2013_Biennale de Design de Saint-Étienne
The Idea
The project was presented during Saint-Étienne design Biennale as part of the « Age du Faire » exhibition, that explored urbanity with objects, pieces of furniture and installations developing steel and light concrete technics.
The History
The Yummyou is made of a stove that works with Japanese wood (high calorific value and no smoke emission), topped with a stainless steel cooking tray attached to it by an endless screw. By turning the tray, it is possible to adjust its height and to intensify or decrease the cooking heat.
The tray, positioned thanks to a wooden handle, allows three essential functions : cooking a la plancha, grill, and removal from the heat to safely seize the food and taste it while just right. The use of this table or outdoors barbecue can be seen as an offering gesture.
